PICKUP WINDING AND REPAIR

We offer rewind and repair service for vintage and new pickups alike. Most import pickups are built poorly and may require a great deal of work to make stable. If you would like them rebuilt to our standards an estimate will be given based on our hourly labor rate. Whenever possible on vintage pickups we try to repair the coil before we rewind it. If a rewind is needed we take many notes on winding pattern and wire used and do our best to restore the original sound and appearance of the pickup. We offer magnet and pickup "aging and relic" services upon request.

We can overwind or underwind your pickup as you desire.

-Overwinding will GENERALLY make the pickup sound stronger and a bit darker, with more midrange.

-Underwinding will GENERALLY make the pickup sound brighter, open and cleaner.

When sending your pickup for rewind please include all contact information with email address and cell phone. It is also important to know 1. Type of pickup 2. How you would like it wound. (Original, Vintage, Overwound, Underwound) 3. Position of the pickup (Neck, Mid, Bridge).

All pickups are evaluated, bobbins repaired when needed. Old wire removed, rewound, with proper coil wire, (different upon request), reassembled and wax potted, play tested for quality.

If bobbins are in poor condition they can be fabricated or repaired depending on condition. Hourly rate applies.
Pickups potted in epoxy (emg ect.) can not be rewound. We try to avoid working on pickups that can be damaged by removing them from there casing.

We do our best to turn rewinds and repairs around in 10 working days or less from receipt. All rewinds are guaranteed for 3 years. This does ... nm.include abuse or wear from poor installation. All rewinds are returned via usps priority mail with delivery confirmation.
